Tractorbox Vol. 1
SUPERNOVA / FRANCESCO PASSANTINO
After 8 months Tractorecords come back in the stores with his 8th vinyl release. Now it’s time for split e.p., the first of the serie, called “Tractorbox”. Usually this kind of projects is defined ‘double a-side’. On the first the main-act is Supernova, a duo formed by Emiliano ‘Emijay’ Nencioni and Giacomo ‘G.o.d.i.’ Godi, out also with the first full-lenght on Sony BMG. Very well known for performances at respected italian clubs like Gasoline and Tenax, this project spread the word of neo techno-house. Really hard to define in few words “Cala Magia” is like a magic potion where the world of house and techno are combined in perfect way. The remix is written by Groove Rebels, another respected duo from Frankfurt, already on big labels like Great Stuff, Craft and Harthouse. On the second side the first actor is Francesco Passantino, the founder of Tractorecords. His track is entitled “Ghianda” (acorn in italian language), a trip into dark atmosphere with minimal attitude and curious fx like a live set. The remix, this time, is by Dandi & Ugo, the ‘heads’ of Italo Business Records with Alessandro Piatto (N.O.I.A.) and active on labels like Re» »Vox, Stereoseven Plus and Lasergun. Open the box: you can find a tractor with powerful music under the wheels.

"Ghianda" is a really good tune! Very hypnotising with nice sounds. I like the vocal sample. I can appreciate also the remix by Dandi & Ugo but the Original is more for me. Think it should do good on the dancefloor, takin' the crowd away. Same thing goes for "Cala Magia": great sounds, nice breaks, also a bit hypnotising. Definitely great tunes from Italy! A really good review from Groove, one of the best german magazines specialized in electronic music.

I'm an old Steve Stoll fan, so I dig TR05. "The Reflux" is classic hypnotic Steve Stoll-style acid techno. The Marcin Czubala remix gives it a hot up-to-date minimal techno sound. [Ulysses, the head of Scatalogics Records, N.Y.C.]

A very good review for "Italoamerica E.p." appear on De:Bug, one of the most important music magazine from Germany.

"Neon Kraft" reminds me something of Steve Stoll might have made, it's a good, funky and hypnotic minimal techno song. The bassline for "Never Felt" is nice and catchy, too. Actually, all three songs are solid. "Fixe" reminds me some stuffs on Trapez and Traum. Quality cuts!! [Ulysses, the head of Scatalogics Records, N.Y.C.]
